Black Box Trail - Walking & Cycling Map
Enjoy a peaceful 6 klm walk or bike ride around the Black Box Trail.
The area is a haven for local flora and fauna - Red Kangaroos and Emus grazing amongst the Black Box trees. Mallee Ringneck Parrots, native birds and a wildflowers.
The trail is an easy walk on an uneven surface.
• Distance - 6 kilometres (approx).
• Allow 2.5hrs to complete the trail.
• Take water and snacks
• Wear appropriate clothing, a hat and sturdy footwear.
• Leave only footprints.

Safety & Emergency
Water Safety:
Swimming: Check the water depth before entering the water. Never dive in headfirst. Never jump into the water from heights. Always enter the water slowly. Swimming is not encouraged.
Be aware of other river users, especially boats and watercraft. Beware of fast flowing water, submerged objects and deep waterholes.
Blue-green algae: Beware of poor water quality - Blue-green algae can occur in rivers, creeks and billabongs under certain conditions. Please avoid direct contact with blue-green algae and do not drink the water. Warning signs may be displayed when algae levels are high.
Fire Safety: It is essential that if you are camping or touring in the reserve that you check with the local NSW Rural Fire Service first to get the latest fire safety information.
Wildlife Safety: Keep yourself and our wildlife safe by understanding the risks of wildlife encounters and how to avoid them. Take responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others in your care. Always carry a First Aid Kit.
